Customs and police officers discovered about 20 kilograms of skunk at the Božaj border crossing when entering Montenegro from Albania and arrested two Albanian citizens.
The police suspect that the skunk was intended for smuggling through Montenegro, and the drug was found around 17.30:XNUMX p.m. on Thursday during a vehicle inspection.
"The Opel Vectra vehicle, with Albanian license plates, was driven by DP (20) from Vlora, while M.Ć. (21) from Vlora, both citizens of the Republic of Albania, was in the vehicle as a passenger. During border checks, customs and police officers interviewed these persons, who told them that they had nothing to declare except personal belongings, and that they were traveling to the Republic of Germany. Customs and police officers, however, suspected that the persons were in possession of prohibited items and objects, after which a detailed border check was started person and vehicle control. During the organoleptic inspection of the trunk, behind the backrest of the rear seat of the vehicle, certain modifications were noticed that led to the suspicion that a partition had been made in that part and that there was a specially made bunker behind it. In the bunker, 19 packages with with the content of a dark green plant substance, which is suspected to be the narcotic drug skank-type marijuana, weighing about 20 kilograms," states the joint statement of the Customs Administration and the Police Administration.
It was also announced that the arrested and the drugs were handed over to the officers of the Department of Anti-Drug Investigation.
"The police officers of this Department deprived the aforementioned two persons of their liberty and brought them to the state prosecutor in the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica with a criminal complaint, due to the grounds of suspicion that they committed the criminal offense of unauthorized production, possession and distribution of narcotic drugs. They were also confiscated from the suspects mobile phone and the vehicle in question. Skank will be sent to the Forensic Center for expert examination," the statement concluded.
