Today, at the Debeli Brijeg border crossing with Croatia, the police discovered 35 packages weighing over 19 kilograms in a vehicle with Albanian license plates driven by an Albanian citizen.
Customs officers stopped a "Mercedes" type 08,30 vehicle driven by TK (210) around 48:XNUMX at the exit from Montenegro. There were four other people in the vehicle, also foreign nationals, three of whom were children.
"Customs and police officers performed an examination of the person, as well as an organoleptic examination of the motor vehicle with the use of hand tools, inspection mirrors, and other auxiliary tools. During the examination of the vehicle, the customs and police officers were in a specially made hiding place, the so-called bunker, in in the trunk behind the tank, they found 35 packages, pasted with PVC foil, rectangular in shape and of different weights, containing a dark green plant substance suspected to be the narcotic drug marijuana. Customs and police officers confiscated the said substance and informed everyone police officers of the Department for the fight against drugs and smuggling, who informed the competent state prosecutor at the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica about the incident," the police statement reads.
TK was arrested and a criminal complaint was filed against him on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of unauthorized production, possession and distribution of narcotic drugs. He will be brought before the competent prosecutor with a criminal report. By order of the prosecutor, the car was also confiscated from TK.
The confiscated drugs will be sent to the Forensic Center for expert examination.
