Fortunately, there are four quick ways to instantly reduce your stress levels.
1. Regulate your breathing
When you're stressed, you're more likely to hyperventilate, which causes even more tension. The solution? Be aware of your breathing. If you feel like you're about to burst completely, consciously relax and take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your mouth. Proper breathing can help slow your heart rate and lower your blood pressure. Do this several times, until you feel that you feel at least a little better.
2. Drink water
Dehydration happens when you are under a lot of pressure, and it has long been known that it is one of the main enemies of productivity. When you deprive your body of the fluid it needs, you create stress, and it will respond with stress. So make sure you drink enough fluids every day.
3. Take a walk
One of the best ways to regain the necessary energy to deal with stressful tasks is to get away from them for a while and take a walk. It would be best to go outside for fresh air, but if that is not possible, take a walk around the office. Walking can actually put your brain in a meditative state, while nature has been proven to lower tension and increase energy levels. Plus, looking at something new and different will give your eyes a much-needed break.
4. Make it comfortable for you
Remove everything that in any way limits and hinders you from feeling maximally comfortable, whatever it may be. Find the position that is most comfortable for you, as this will provide instant relief.
