Montenegrin artist Irena Lagator Pejović will present herself at the exhibition "How to Picture Living Systems", which will be opened today at 17 pm at the Konrad Lorenz Institute (KLI) - an institution for advanced studies of complex natural systems and theory in Vienna.

The exhibition will be opened by a round table discussion with the participants of prof. Dr. Peter Schuster, theoretician of chemistry, Gert Hasenhütl, lecturer at the Academy of Arts in Vienna, and Martin Walde, visual artist, while the conversation will be moderated by curator Petra Maitz. In addition to our artist, Peter Weibel, Martin Walde, Mariateresa Sartori, John Aslanidis and Petra Maitz, who is the curator of the exhibition, will exhibit their works at the exhibition.

The works of the artists represented in the exhibition 'How to Picture Living Systems' deal with questions and themes concerning the systems in which societies exist in relation to the systems of natural processes. Topics that allow critical analysis of artistic and scientific aspects of reality in relation to 'correct' and 'wrong' epistemological claims and in relation to 'living systems' are communicated.

"In my work DOO according to D Ne OO we see a mathematical equation translated into seven languages. The equation subverts the economic term Limited Liability Company to its opposite, a poetic attempt to reconstruct it - Unlimited Liability Company. Its result (No) is the bearer of positive values, while at the same time it is a negation that confirms the need for a poetic transformation of reality. The equation was created by comparing art and reality, culture and science, and by using the mathematical principle of negation of the same elements, we get its result. That is why this visual language of equation or balance opens relations with science in order to underline the importance of an urgent attempt at a new reconstruction of reality, a process in which art has a significant role. Because there is no balance in nature and reality without responsibility, as well as a 'living system' without balance", said Irena Lagator Pejović about her work for "Vijesti", stressing that "DOO functions internationally as an economic instrument, or even better, as a 'living system' for profit making that leaves enough room for operations whose responsibilities are limited”.
