"Habitats" is the name of the exhibition of the academic painter Sonja Malavrazić, which will be opened tonight at 18 pm in the Sue Ryder gallery.
"Perhaps the most important question that arises when first looking at Sonja Malavrazić's works from the series "Habitats" is whether they are paintings and/or sculptures, or the closest would be to state that they are "paintings outside the painting" (the same wording which was the subject not only of theoretical explications in the avant-garde/modern/postmodern, but also the subject of the painting practice of artists who were subsequently, with critical thought, classified into marked drawers of history/post-history of art)? Another question is whether it is even necessary to answer this first," Voislav Bulatović wrote in the catalog for the exhibition.
Sonja Malavrazić is a painter and radio creator. She graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade in 1993, painting department, class of professor Zoran Pavlović. She received her master's degree from the same professor in 1996. She also graduated from FPN, Department of Journalism in 1975. He is a member of ULUS. So far, she has had twelve solo and several collective exhibitions.
