Exhibited photographs taken at the beginning of the last century, during the archaeological research of the Imperial Archaeological Commission in the cities of Ani (a fortress from the 5th to the 8th century and the capital of Armenia, the economic and cultural center of the country until the 13th century) and Van (the seat of the Kingdom of Armenia, founded in sixth century before Christ), are evidence of a unique cultural heritage that was completely or partially destroyed during the dramatic events of the beginning of the 20th century and show the historical and architectural monuments of Western and Eastern Armenia.

The exhibition includes more than eighty prints from the original glass negatives kept in the collection of the History Museum of Armenia.
