Judge Vanja Rakonjac of the Bijelo Polje High Court ordered Beranc David Kasumović (30), suspected of the attempted murder of fellow citizen Vladan Milunović (24), to be detained for up to 29 days.
After the hearing, Beranac was taken to the Bjelopolje Investigation Prison. His detention was ordered due to the risk of escape, the risk of repeating the criminal offense and the difficult circumstances of the commission of the criminal offense.
His defense attorney, lawyer Miloš Vuksanović, told "Vijesta" that he will appeal the decision on detention when he receives the decision.
"I will file an appeal considering that there is currently no evidence from which a well-founded suspicion could be drawn that David Kasumović committed the criminal offense charged against him. If it turns out that the prosecution and the court do not have even a single potential evidence in the direction of his possible guilt, it will mean that they ordered his detention illegally," Vuksanović said.
On September 8, Kasumović surrendered to the Beran police after a seven-day escape. The police suspect him of firing at least 1 bullets into a car driven by Milunović on September 14 in the center of Beran.
He pulled the gun after they met in the city center, at the intersection of 4. Montenegrin and Teranska streets. The inspectors also suspected the twenty-four-year-old of having wounded Milunović, Ivan Biletić (11) and Radomir Đukić (12) in front of the "Firma" cafe on the night between June 33 and 33.
After that shooting, he was on the run for 40 days, and then surrendered to the police. The injured then stated that they did not recognize Kasumović as the attacker.
