The exhibition of paintings called "The Garden" by the Montenegrin painter Sonja Đuranović was set up in the exhibition space of the administration building of Porto Montenegro in Tivat.
With over forty works, from miniatures to large-format acrylics on canvas, Đuranović presents her artistic identity to the Tivat audience through colorful paintings of landscapes and gardens with a focus on the structure and symbolism of plants and flowers.
"My many years of research resulted in the creation of a personal sign - a symbol. Sometimes I treat the motif through a network of verticals and horizontals, with wavy forms that are associated with thread, weaving. I build each of my paintings by underpainting, overpainting, taking into account the composition, color, drawing, precious surfaces of the previous layers, as well as the ones that follow," the artist points out.
"Sonja Djuranović's kaleidoscopic creations rest on almost classical attributes of painting art, pure to the point of self-affirmation: they are both fireworks and graceful phenomena - a declaration of the principle of beauty; they are an absolute joy to the eye, a demonstration of artisanal perfection, a record of creation from the artist's 'unintentional dedication' to harmony, balanced composition and color relationships," explains art historian Svetlana Racanović.
Sonja Đuranović graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cetinje. Among the many independent and collective exhibitions in her artistic biography, the exhibitions in the Šarlama Depo Gallery in Sarajevo, the Contemporary Art Center of Montenegro and the Art Pavilion in Podgorica, as well as in the Pendulum Gallery in Vancouver stand out.
Her exhibition in Tivat will be on display until September 15.
By the way, the administrative building of the Adriatic Marinas company is recognized as a place of exhibition of local and regional authors, whose exhibitions change every month throughout the year. So far, more than 30 authors have exhibited in the former Army House.
