The current Olympic and world champions were led to victory by Lik Abalo with seven goals and Nikola Karabatić with five goals, while in the team from the Middle East one of the three most effective was Cetinje's Žarko Marković with four goals, but from 12 shots.
Goran Stojanović had two saves.
The French are joined at the top of Group A by Denmark, who defeated Tunisia (31:23), while in the derby of Group B, Germany was better than Poland (32:29).
Fabijan Vide, Julius Kuhn and Uwe Gensheimer bounced back with five goals each for the winners, while Karol Bjelecki was by far the best for the Poles with 10.
