The Executive Board of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee has decided that Bojana Popović will carry the flag at the opening of the Olympic Games.
The celebrated handball player, who returned to the court after a four-year break, promised the attack of the "lionesses" for the gold in Rio.
"My heart is beating like it was in London before the final, which means I'm excited. It's a great honor and pleasure for me, thank you to everyone who trusted me to be the one to carry the flag in Rio in front of all these wonderful athletes".
"We will try to do our best to present a small country, not to allow anyone to be stronger than us character-wise, motivationally, emotionally and in any other way, if it is bigger".
"We have proven more than once that we have it, and I am sure that you will be proud of us again".
"It will be difficult, but I promise you on behalf of myself, and theirs, that we will try to get an even better medal and that in the end we will rejoice like after London".
"I will try to justify the trust and I will wear our beautiful flag with pride," said Popović.
