The anti-drug department and the Podgorica police seized a large amount of marijuana in the Stari aerodrome neighborhood, the Police Directorate told "Vijesti".
Paccording to unofficial information, drugs were seized in the truck of the owner Ivica Vuković (34), a citizen of Slovenia, from Rekek.
Leon Gojčaj was also identified and prosecuted due to the suspicion that he sold a skunk to Vuković.
The police announced that Vuković arrested last night, and that 150 packages containing about 150 kilograms of skunk, which it is suspected that Vuković intended to smuggle across the border, were seized.
"On July 19, in the evening hours, officers of the Department for the fight against drugs found IV, 33 years old, a citizen of the Republic of Slovenia from Rekek, in the neighborhood of Stari aerodrome in Podgorica, while undertaking activities to suppress criminal offenses in the field of drug abuse. skunk-type marijuana drugs from a passenger to a cargo motor vehicle. During the search of the "Mercedes" C-class passenger motor vehicle, with Podgorica license plates, 97 large packages were found on the passenger seat, the back seat and in the trunk, containing a green plant substance that is suspected to be skank-type marijuana." , it is stated in the announcement of UP.
Police officers, as they state, searched the "Man" commercial vehicle with Slovenian license plates and found another 53 such packages in the back of the trailer containing a substance suspected to be skunk.
"Packages with narcotic drugs were confiscated. The state prosecutor in the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica was informed about the event, by whose order IV was deprived of his liberty. According to the prosecutor's order, funds and items that were suspected to have been used in the commission of the crime were confiscated from IV. Police-prosecutor activities point to the suspicion that IV in the previous period was involved in the procurement, putting into circulation and smuggling of the intoxicating drug skank-type marijuana," the UP states.
The police state that it is suspected that Vuković acquired 150 kilograms of skunk, which the police discovered and seized last night, with the intention of hiding it in a cargo motor vehicle and smuggling it across the border to Slovenia, in order to put this narcotic drug into circulation on the territory of that country.
"Further criminal investigation indicated the suspicion that this narcotic drug was obtained by IV from a citizen of Montenegro, LG, 30 years old from Podgorica, who is wanted. Suspect IV, by order of the state prosecutor in the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, was brought to that prosecutor today with a criminal complaint, due to the grounds of suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of unauthorized production, possession and distribution of narcotic drugs. The criminal report includes LG, who is suspected of the same criminal offense, and police officers are intensively searching for him," the UP statement said.
The police say that the confiscated skunk will be sent to the Forensic Center for expert examination.
From the beginning of 2016 until today, the officers of the Police Administration confiscated a total of about 650 kilograms of narcotic drugs, of which the most marijuana and skank - about 607 kilograms, followed by heroin - about 33 kilograms, the police said.
In that period, as reported, due to criminal offenses in the field of drug abuse, police officers filed criminal charges against 93 persons with the competent prosecutors, while they filed misdemeanor charges against 120 persons with the regional misdemeanor authorities for misdemeanors in this area.
