Montenegrin kickboxer Miroslav Vujović won the title at the Balkan Championship.
Vujović defeated the current world champion Serbian fighter Saša Polugić in the final of the over 91 kilogram category in Vrbas this evening, by a unanimous decision of the judges on points 1:3.
The member of Podgorica "Ariston" reached the championship belt with dominant fights. On the way to the final, he justified his role as the favorite against the Serbian fighter Rado Opačić, whom he also defeated with a maximum score of 3:0.
"With two convincing victories over the Serbian national team, I managed to win the Balkan championship. For me, this is a great success, because in the final I had the current amateur world champion, Saša Polugić, who will soon fight for the title of professional world champion. I would like to thank coach Predrag Lekić, coach Goran Radonjić, president of the Kickboxing Association Ivan Strugar, as well as the guys from the club, for their great help, so this is also their success. This is the result of serious work and I hope for even greater success in the future," said Vujović for "Vijesti".
In addition to Vujović, Dejvid Kajević won the gold medal in the low kick category up to 75 kilograms, while Samir Murić, Anastasija Petrović, Ilija Vujović and Mirza Alihodžić won the silver medal.
The Balkan Championship in Vrbas gathered around 250 fighters from eight countries.
