Even the rain accompanied by the wind did not prevent many nature lovers from coming to the opening of the summer tourist season in the Biogradska Gora National Park.
"Despite the storm, we decided to celebrate this day as well every year to get together, to socialize, to create that atmosphere, to maintain that tourist spirit," said Saša Šćepanović from Kolašin.
According to tradition, there was no lack of socializing with songs on this day.
As usual, something for everyone at the rich table.
"Eggs, since it's Easter, then we have roasted pork, grilled neck, sausage, drumsticks, kebabs," said Mile Rakočević from Kolašin.
Although rare, foreign tourists are satisfied with the unusual ambience.
"In our country, we don't have that much rain, that much water, we don't have that much greenery, and this is what I like and it is in Montenegro and here in the National Park," said a tourist from Israel.
In addition to the natural beauty offered by the only rainforest in Europe, visitors can be satisfied with prices that are at last year's level.
"A daily sports fishing license costs 20 euros, accommodation in our bungalows costs 10 euros, boat rental per person is 8 euros per hour. Also last year, we introduced new facilities such as renting bicycles, kayaks, and hiking equipment," said the director of the NP. Biogradska Gora Saša Jeknić.
During the last year, about 35.000 tourists visited Lake Biograd. Due to the delayed works in this National Park, they expect a much worse visit.
"The reason for this is the lack of a restaurant, which we expect to be completed at the end of July and the beginning of August, because that restaurant is one of the flywheels and the driving force behind all the activities that take place in the National Park," Jeknić said.
The novelty that the National Park in cooperation with the World Wide Fund for Nature will offer during this season is the unique project "Bear Watching", which they claim will benefit all tourism workers from this area.
