Tivat will host the Balkan table tennis championship for young people from May 11 to 15, said the president of the Table Tennis Association of Montenegro, Ratko Dedić.
He pointed out that the most important sports event in table tennis will be realized in cooperation with the municipality of Tivat.
"Tivat has taken over the patronage and the role of host, for our Association, of an extremely important manifestation, which will contribute to the development and popularization of an Olympic sport, and the promotion of tourism potential for the state of Montenegro," Dedić said at a press conference.
It was announced that XNUMX tennis players from all ten member states will participate in the championship.
"The World Table Tennis Organization also made an effort for a successful organization, which provided our association with 16 tables, 200 rings, and 24 judges' tables, scoreboards and nets, in the total amount of about 20 thousand euros," said Dedić.
"Our association managed to sign a contract with one of the largest manufacturers of table tennis equipment, Stag from India, on the official sponsorship of all national team selections for a period of four years, which will be manifested by the provision of complete sports equipment. The value of this sponsorship contract in equipment will be around 30 thousand euros ", Dedić pointed out.
Representative of the Administration for Youth and Sports Branimir Ivanović said that this government body has always supported and will support all sports events that contribute to the development of sports in Montenegro and raise its reputation in the world.
"We gave full support to STSCG to organize and enter into the procedure of organizing such a prestigious competition. The new management of the association has made a big step that is noticeable and will be evaluated through the results achieved, but which will be achieved in the following period," he said.
