Katnić is looking for the author of the accusations

Police director Slavko Stojanović and head of the criminal sector, Milovan Pavićević, were heard in the Special Prosecutor's Office, after the administration assessed that the prosecutor's office, along with some unassigned police officers, was trying to discredit the management of that institution.

The Police Administration stated these accusations in a statement after the arrest of police officers Dalibor Medojević and Nikola Terzić, and regarding the disappearance of evidence seized from the facilities of the arrested Veselin Mujović.

"Vijesti" was unofficially told that the prosecutor Lidija Vukčević will interrogate all the key people of the Police Administration, in order to determine who is behind the statement full of accusations against the Special Prosecutor's Office, as well as who should allegedly be discredited.

The interlocutor of "Vijesti" said that the prosecutor's office has a problem determining who all belongs to the "management" of the police, and that those questioned will not say that.

The evidence that was stolen from the police, in an as yet unexplained way, was found last week, after 40 days, in the investigation vehicle of CB Podgorica. Among them is one paper that was not even listed as exempt during the search.

Mujović's house was searched by police officers as part of the investigation into suspicions that he fraudulently took nearly 900.000 euros from politician Svetozar Marović, telling him that they would ease his status in the investigations into million-dollar embezzlement in Budva.

Not long after, it was established that part of the evidence that the police took from his premises during the search on February 19 had disappeared.

The Special Prosecutor's Office opened an investigation, and the acting head of the Department for the Prevention of Organized Crime and Corruption - Medojević and the inspector of that department - Terzić were arrested.

After that, the police issued a statement in which they stated that their officers were arrested and detained without evidence and asked the Government to protect them from the Special Prosecutor's Office.

"Such blanket and hasty decisions by the Special Prosecutor's Office, to deprive Medojević and Terzić of their freedom and keep them without any evidence that they are members of an organized criminal group, were obviously intended to use the case of the disappearance of letters, in conjunction with certain unassigned police officers, for an attempt discrediting the Police Administration and its management", the Police Administration said at the time.

On February 28, in the same statement, the Police Directorate threatened to demand the responsibility of the Special Prosecutor's Office, if Medojević and Terzić are not convicted by a final verdict for the crimes they are charged with.

"It is in the interest of the police to bring this case to an end, and we will persevere in this, and in this procedure the Prosecution has the full support of the management of the Police Directorate. Of course, if Medojević and Terzić are not convicted of the crimes they are charged with by a final verdict, we will initiate the initiation of the responsibility of the acting prosecutor and the competent prosecutor's office at the competent state authorities", stated the Police Administration.

Despite serious accusations against their non-deployed officers and the prosecution, the police did not file criminal charges and did not explain why they did not do so.

"Due to the allegations presented in the announcement of the Police Administration of February 28, 2, a case was established in the Special State Prosecutor's Office. The procedure is in the investigation phase," the Special Prosecutor's Office told "Vijesta" officially last week.

The Special Prosecutor's Office suspected Medojević and Terzić of criminal offenses - creation of a criminal organization and abuse of official position.

They were released to defend themselves, although the investigating judge of the High Court, Miroslav Bašović, confirmed the grounds for suspicion that they had committed the criminal acts they were charged with.

Immediately after the theft of evidence in the police, "Vijesti" asked Stojanović whether he would seek the dismissal of the head of the criminal police, Milovan Pavićević, and whether he would resign because of this scandal. He didn't answer.

To date, no one from the management of the Police Administration has been held accountable.
