The Court of Appeal sentenced four men to 13 years in prison, because on November 24, 2015, they stole 14.350 euros from Podgorica lawyer Milorad Mića Kaluđerović.
The first-instance verdict was pronounced by the judge of the Higher Court in Podgorica, Predrag Tabaš.
A distant relative of the victim, Dušan Kaluđerović, was named in the verdict as the organizer of the deal and was sentenced to three years in prison, while Miloš Marković was also sentenced to the same sentence.
Andrija Lazović and Marko Radičević were each sentenced to three and a half years in prison.
It says that it has been indisputably proven that Dušan Kaluđerović deliberately instigated the robbery of Lazović, Radičević and Marković.
"Last November, on several occasions, Kaluđerović proposed to Lazović that they 'do his cousin' Mića Kaluđerović, who, according to the information of the organizer of the 'job', kept around 20.000 euros in the house... Lazović hired Marko Radičević for the job. The day before the home invasion, the defendant Kaluđerović called Miloš Marković and asked him if he was interested in earning a few dinars, and he agreed. The verdict states that on November 24, Lazović knocked on the front door of Kaluđerović's house. When the lawyer opened the door, he was immediately hit in the head. Lazović, Radičević and Marković pushed him inside the house, knocked him to the floor, and then sat on him. The accused tied Kaluđerović's hands and feet with ties and rope and covered him with a blanket, rendering him unable to resist. "After rummaging through the upstairs of the house, Lazović and Radičević found a little less than 15.000 euros," the verdict reads.
