Budva Riviera still has a formality called Unity on the way to the seventh consecutive trophy in the Cup of Montenegro.
The champion arrived in Podgorica further weakened, because the last foreigners left the day before, Bosnian-Herzegovinian internationals, technician Luka Šormaz and middle blocker Azur Eminović, which betrayed their patience while waiting for back wages, but even that was not enough for Budućnost to make the semi-finals much more interesting.
"An expected victory against the young team of Budućnosti, but we also had three cadets in our lineup, and I would especially like to praise Marović, Kastratović and Ognjenović, who had the opportunity to contribute to the game. We played well and deservedly qualified for the final. I expect us to win trophy, I expect us to play well in the final and win," said Slobodan Boškan, coach of Budvan.
The three cadets in the Budva squad, Veljko Marović, Miljan Kastratović and Ognjen Ivanović, along with Ječmenica, Babić, Medenica and Lakčević, were an insurmountable obstacle for the people of Podgorica. Buducnost had the only chance at the end of the third set, but did not use the counter for 23:23...
"We played in a terrible spasm, convinced before the final tournament of the Cup that we would play much better. That's youth, after several well-played games there was such a decline. I'm sorry, and we could have and had to give much more, we didn't show but 30 percent of our opportunities. The boys have quality, but, it seems, I believe in that quality more than they do. My task is to try to instill that in them," said Budućnosti coach Zoran Vukčević.
In the replay of last year's second semi-final, the epilogue was not the same - the volleyball players of Jedinstva defeated Volley Star with 3:0 and for the first time in the club's history, they qualified for the final of the Cup of Montenegro.
Thus, at the final tournament in Podgorica, Bjelopolj took revenge against Volej Stara for last year's painful defeat, on their home field, and they did it with interest.
"I congratulate the boys on a great game and victory. We entered the match responsibly, and the players respected everything we had agreed upon before the match, and I think that is what decided us to win the match," said Jedinstva coach Darko Prebiračević.
Darko Prebiračević's team's victory was fully deserved, against a team that last season had as many as four players on Slobodan Boškan's extended list, and that is playing the end of the season with two former national team members, Miloš Simović and Rado Papović. It remains to be seen whether reaching the finals will bring some names to the national team...
Volej Star was in the game in the first set until the second technical time-out, where he led 16:15, while in the second set he dropped the initial advantage of 10:5. Everything else was a demonstration of the power of Unity...
"The Unity team showed that they have a greater motive and desire, which of course showed through their game. Only the first half of the match was uncertain, but in the end, the readiness of the guys from Jedinstva decided that the match would end in their favor", said Volej Star coach Vladimir Đokić.
The final will be played tomorrow evening from 19:XNUMX, also in Podgorica, in the gymnasium "Slobodan Škerović".
