Male-female relationships have not changed significantly since the time of Adam and Eve

Last night, the theater audience in the packed Dvorana Park in Herceg Novi greeted with thunderous applause the actors who premiered the play "Adam and Eve", which was directed by Slobodan Milatović based on the text of Miroslav Krleža.

Local actors: Danilo Babović, Bojana Malinovska, Miloš Pejović and Srđan Đorđević showed enviable potential. The director of Herceg Fest, Stevan Koprivica, who is the producer behind the play, announces his support for similar projects in the future.

Tickets for the premiere were sold out a few days earlier, and the audience's expectations were met.

With stormy applause, they greeted the actors who, through the story of male-female relationships, told in an interesting way that basically nothing has changed since the time of Adam and Eve.

The director of Herceg Fest, Stevan Koprivica, is also satisfied with the final result of the actors and director Slobodan Milatović, who decided that for the first time the institution he heads will support a professional performance as a producer.

"This is one of those plays that will make you think, it's that semantic sign plan that director Milatović insists on and which is readable in an implicit, intellectual way," said Koprivica.

He pointed out that the play was "high stakes", but the reaction of the audience showed that it was worth it.

Actor Miloš Pejović, with the most professional experience among his colleagues playing in the play, emphasizes that performing in front of "his" audience is an additional motivation, convinced that they have done a good show.

"I am satisfied with the character of the Lord. It best reflects my adaptation of Krleža. There are ten characters in one character, and that was the most interesting to me, at the same time I was most afraid of it, lest I go into some kind of irony. Visually, the play has the form of a fairy tale, so all that is a bit toned down," said Pejović.

"I opened up as an actor, and it helped a lot that Slobo Milatović wants to hear the actor, it's important for him that the actor feels good on stage, he lets us bring our emotions, our unrest, our needs, our dissatisfaction into the role, of course not to the detriment his directorial ideas", said actress Bojana Malinovska.

Slobodan Milatović is a director who significantly adapts the texts he puts on the stage and with his reading enables a special, different view of both the work and the author. He says that he is satisfied both as an actor and conceptually, and what he sometimes complains to himself, in this play - is not there.

It was risky, he says, to play with Krlež, to try to make it clear.

"It seems to me that we have done all that and that, although it was made conceptually, the play is also for the audience", said Moilatović, confident that the themes, ideas and questions posed by Krlež remain.

The play Adam and Eve will be performed again on March 24, followed by guest appearances and festival life.
