The director of the Ulcinj Center for Culture, Nailj Draga, was sentenced to six months in prison for abuse of official position.
Such a decision was made by the Podgorica High Court, overturning the verdict of the Ulcinj court, which sentenced Draga to one year in prison.
A high-ranking official of the New Democratic Forces - Force was tried on the charge of concluding illegal contracts for the lease of a building owned by the Cultural Center, without a previously organized public tender.
According to the reliable knowledge of "Vijesti", the judges of the High Court appreciated that the conditional sentence is a mild punishment for the illegalities committed by Draga.
"Draga is accused of illegally obtaining financial benefits from fellow citizens Vedat Ljamović and Amir Zagović in 2012 and 2013. The decision of judge Sanja Mirović, by which the defendant was sentenced to a suspended sentence, was changed and a sentence of six months in prison was pronounced," "Vijesta" was told unofficially from the High Court.
The interlocutor clarified that Draga did not respect the decisions on renting out, did not call for tenders, but illegally, as the director of the Cultural Center, concluded contracts for renting out business premises.
Draga concluded illegal contracts with Ljamović and Zogović on the lease of the building owned by the Culture Center, without a previously organized public tender.
