Officers of the Police Directorate of the MUP - Regional Center of the Border Police seized 10 kilograms of skunk yesterday in the area of the Jagoda watchtower, in the immediate vicinity of the border with Albania.
"The person who smuggled a skunk from Albania to the territory of our country, noticing the police officers, threw away the bag with drugs, and since he was near the border line, he managed to move away across the border, i.e. to the territory of Albania, which our officers informed colleagues from Albania. Officers of the Department for the fight against drugs took over the seized bag. "The police officers found that the bag contained 10 large PVC packages containing dark green vegetable matter, which is suspected to be the intoxicating drug skank-type marijuana, weighing around 10 kilograms," the police administration said in a statement.
The state prosecutor in the Higher State Prosecutor's Office was informed about the event.
The police, in cooperation with their colleagues from Albania, are working to identify the person who smuggled drugs.
"This is the third major drug seizure in the last six days. We remind you that, on February 25 and 26, 2016, in less than 24 hours, the officers of the Police Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs seized a total of about 90 kilograms of drugs, which on the drug market is worth about 2.375.000 .1,1 euros. About 60 kg of heroin and 26 kilograms of skunk were found on February 2016, 28, during a vehicle control in Podgorica, while border police officers discovered about XNUMX kg of heroin the night before together with customs officers at the Debeli Brijeg Border Crossing. , the statement added.
