The circumstances under which the crime took place in Štrpci 23 years ago have never been fully elucidated, the perpetrators and the perpetrators have mostly remained beyond the reach of justice, and the remains of most of the victims have not yet been found, the Bosniak Party announced.
"Remembrance of war crimes is also a warning that the state of Montenegro must face the past, while the attitude of the institutions towards the members of the families of the victims must be more dedicated - with more care and attention," states the announcement on the occasion of the 23rd anniversary of the kidnapping and the murder of 23 passengers of Bosniak nationality from train 19, which was traveling on the route Belgrade - Bar.
The Bosniak party expresses concern about the lack of a fair judicial epilogue when it comes to cases of war crimes, and points to the need to consider the possibility of their actualization again.
"The higher court in Bijelo Polje sentenced Nebojša Radisavljević to fifteen years in prison for participating in that war crime against the civilian population, and the subsequent arrests of several suspects for participating in the crime, however, inspire hope that justice may be achieved," the statement reads.
As stated, at the December 2015 POSP session, the representatives of BS emphasized the importance of this issue, the resolution of which requires a new prosecution and court proceedings.
BS supported the initiative to erect a memorial and plaque with the names of the victims, as well as the naming of the street "Štrbačkih žrtava".
