The Nikšić Theater got a new-old director. Among the three candidates who applied for the competition published on February 6, Zoran Bulajić was chosen to lead the institution for the third time.
Also in the running for the position of director was Obrad Nenezić, a playwright from Nikšić, who posted remarks on his Facebook profile about the Theater's Artistic Council as the decision-maker. Nenezić referred to the conditions of the competition:
"The required conditions were a high school diploma in social studies - Faculty of Dramatic Arts, three years of work experience, a prominent person in the field of film and theater."
At the session held on February 24, the council violated its decision, i.e. competition from Pobjeda, Law on Culture, Law on Labor, Laws on State and Local Employees and made a decision to choose a director who has completed Marxism and for the third time, who is not a prominent person from the theater and film industry.
Bojka Đukanović, the president of the Theater Council, which has 5 members, says that they made the decision unanimously, and points out the criterion of work experience, but in the management position, the chosen candidate had an advantage, although as Nenezić wrote, this was not required by the competition.
"There is not much to explain, there was a public call for that leadership position. Three candidates applied, one of whom did not meet the requirements because he did not submit complete documentation. They both met special requirements, but only candidate Bulajić met the general requirements conditions, where it was understood that the candidate must have three years of work experience in management positions," Đukanović told TV Vijesti.
The re-elected director of the theater in Nikšić, Zoran Bulajić, took office in April 2010. During his tenure, the old theater building was demolished in 2008, and last year the theater lost its homeless status with the opening of a new building at the address of the former cinema on September 18. Obrad Nenezić is a graduate dramatist, PhD student at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade, screenwriter of the films Balkan brothers and AS pik, and the author of documentaries and dozens of dramatic texts and theater plays. He is not, as he wrote, a member of "any party", but he states that the last decision of the Council is important for political continuity and asks the question:
"Is this the continuity that the newly elected director has been carrying out together with this so-called council for the past 10 years, which is why the Government of Montenegro introduced a program to support the development of culture in Nikšić as if we were a newly discovered African tribe? If so, then we should reward these people for giving us they develop culture in Nikšić for life," Nenezić said.
The decision-makers are satisfied with Bulajić's abilities, which guided them during this election as well. They say that they did not rely too much on artistic quality, but on practical skills.
"The theater experienced a renaissance and is very active in the cultural life of the city. This is due to the new building that ensured its functioning, but the director of the theater also took all positive steps to take advantage of these conditions. And most importantly, it was not a choice for the artistic director or dramatist, here we were looking for a director who would be a manager," emphasizes Bojka Đukanović.
The president of the council also notes that Obrad Nenezić has realized five projects at the Nikšić Theater in a short period of time, and that the doors of that institution are wide open for him as a dramatist.
