Pistol and revolver seized in Nikšić and Bar

The Nikšić and Bar police confiscated two firearms from two persons - a revolver and a pistol, which these persons illegally possessed, the Police Administration announced.

"On February 17, 2016, the Nikšić police, as part of the "Raid" operation, found a discarded "Crvena Zastava" brand pistol, cal. 9 mm, as well as 4 PVC bags containing dry green vegetable matter in the premises of the Vir Local Government suspected to be the narcotic drug marijuana. Weapons and plant matter were seized from the scene. Police went to findings that indicate the suspicion that the weapon belongs to DG (21) from Nikšić. The Basic State Prosecutor in Nikšić was informed about the incident, who ordered that the DG be taken into custody, as well as that the weapon be sent to the Forensic Center for expert examination, after which a declaration will be made on the qualification of the criminal offense," the Police Administration said in a statement.

The announcement adds that on February 18 of this year, in the Stari Bar neighborhood, a "Seat Leon" vehicle with Tivat license plates was stopped by a Bar police officer, and on that occasion they conducted an inspection of the vehicle and persons.

"An examination of the vehicle and the person of A.Š. (22) from Bar revealed a firearm - a "Zastava 357" revolver, as well as six bullets of the same caliber in illegal possession. The weapon was taken from A.Š., who was arrested. The ODT in Bar was informed about the event, which assessed that there are elements of the criminal offense of illegal possession of weapons and explosive substances and ordered that A.Š. along with a criminal report, they will be brought to further jurisdiction," the announcement concludes.
