A total of 37 people were detained, six of whom were arrested, and two police officers were injured, the epilogue of the riot which broke out before the start of the basketball game between KK Sutjeska and KK Partizan, which was played yesterday in Nikšić.
"A total of 35 people were detained - 19 for disturbing public order and peace and 16 for improper behavior in a public place. Of these 19 people, six people were deprived of their freedom and their knives, clubs and torches were confiscated. In addition to this, two more people were detained right before the start of the game, one of which, as is suspected, attacked a police officer and the other of which disobeyed the police officer's order. Two police officers were injured on that occasion," the Police Directorate announced.
Due to the violation of public order and peace that occurred yesterday due to the conflict between fans of two clubs, 15.15 people were detained at the intersection of Lazar Sočica and Đura Salaj streets in Nikšić at around 19:XNUMX p.m.
The police announced that a folding knife, a retractable metal bat, an improvised electric cable bat, a baseball bat, a retractable metal rod, a retractable bat, and a torch were found and confiscated from six of those 19 people.
"Six persons with whom the said items were found were deprived of liberty and misdemeanor charges under the Weapons Act were filed against them. Misdemeanor charges were filed against the other 13 persons who violated public order and peace at the aforementioned intersection. The Deputy Basic State Prosecutor in Nikšić was informed about the event, who stated that there are no elements of a criminal offense, the prosecution of which is undertaken ex officio. "During the violation of public order and peace, there was damage to the property of the MUP in the form of a broken rear windshield on an official vehicle used by officers of the Police Directorate, about which the ZODT was also informed," the statement said.
Apart from the aforementioned 19, another 16 people were detained due to inappropriate behavior in a public place with noise and shouting on the streets.
"Later, around 18,15:18 p.m., in front of the entrance to SRC Nikšić where the match was taking place, there was an attack on a police officer. Namely, the police officers pushed one fan group away from the other, so that there would be no conflict, when LR ( 21) from Nikšić, it is suspected, physically attacked a police officer by hitting him several times in the head and back area. The second person, NR (XNUMX) from Nikšić, it is suspected, disobeyed the police officer's order to move away from the person place. These two persons were taken to the premises of the CBNK. On this occasion, two police officers suffered minor injuries - the police officer who was attacked and another officer who intervened. The ZODT in Nikšić was informed about the event, which ordered that these persons took statements and declared that he would make a statement about the qualification of the crime later," concludes the statement of the Police Administration.
