Marina Raković is the best athlete in Podgorica

Karate athlete Marina Raković is the best athlete in Podgorica in 2015, the Council of the Municipal Secretariat for Culture and Sports decided today.

Raković won bronze medals at the European Championship and the European Games.

The women's handball club Budućnost, the current champion of Europe, was chosen as the best club, as expected, while the head of the professional staff of the "blues" Dragan Adžić was the best coach of the city in the last year.

The capital also awarded promising athletes, namely Mario Hodžić (karate), Nenad Dulović (karate), Aleksandra Popović (jiu-jitsu), Milena Jakšić (basketball), Aleksandra Mijović (karate), Iva Popović (karate), Milutin Pavićević (volleyball), Balša Banović (football), Anja Drašković (tennis), Mina Dragović (volleyball) and Nikolina Knežević (handball).

Plaques for exceptional sports results in 2015 went to Blagota Petričević (athletics), Jelena Maksimović (karate), Vladimir Jović (karate), Anja Jović (karate), Dejan Vukčević (jiu-jitsu), Miloš Golić (savate), Lazar Ćupić (judo) and the University of Donja Gorica (university karate team).

Professors Marija Nišavić (Sutjeska Primary School) and Drago Cimbaljević (Vaso Aligrudić High School of Electrical Engineering) received a gold plaque for their special contribution to the development of school sports.

The gold plaque for successful cooperation in the implementation of the program activities of the Secretariat for Culture and Sports was awarded to the physical education activity of Elementary School "Oktoih", while the gold plaque for the development and promotion of sports for persons with disabilities will go to the table tennis club for persons with disabilities "Luča".

The Society for Sports Recreation "Societe Generale Montenegro Podgorica" ​​won a gold plaque for the promotion and development of sports recreation in Podgorica, while Momo Saveljić (soccer) and Igor Popović (basketball) received gold plaques for outstanding contribution to the development, organization and improvement of sports.

As announced by the Municipal Secretariat for Culture and Sports, the ceremonial announcement of the most successful athletes of Podgorica in 2015 will be held tomorrow (Thursday) at the Ramada Hotel, starting at 12 noon.
