The exhibition of the graphic map "Oktoih 1494-2014" by Dimitri Popović, which marked the jubilee last year - 520 years since the printing of Oktoih Prvoglasnik, the first Cyrillic book among the South Slavs, will be opened tomorrow evening in the National Library of Serbia.
At the opening of the exhibition, which is organized by the National Library of Montenegro "Đurđe Crnojević", the National Library of Serbia and the Embassy of Montenegro in Belgrade, the manager of the National Library of Serbia Laslo Blašković, the director of the National Library of Montenegro Jelena Đurović and the Minister of Culture of Montenegro Pavle Goranović will speak, while the exhibition to officially open the ambassador of Montenegro in Belgrade, Branislav Mićunović.
On the same day, the National Library will present to the National Library of Serbia a copy of the bibliophile edition of the graphic map "Oktoih 1494-2014". The graphic map contains ten graphic sheets and six graphics combined in the form of an art book. The graphics are inspired by the letters that make up the name Oktoih, which the artist Dimitrije Popović artistically and symbolically interpreted. The graphic map "Oktoih 1494-2014" was printed in one hundred numbered copies, in which each sheet is signed by the artist.
This art project has so far been successfully presented in Zagreb, Brussels and Ljubljana.
