The Media Council for Self-Regulation (MSS) strongly condemned today the threats directed at TV Vijesti director Marijana Bojanić.

"Threatening anyone's safety, especially journalists, is unacceptable. Such threats are aimed at discouraging journalists from performing their duties," the announcement reads.

MSS called on the authorities to investigate this case as soon as possible and to prevent further endangerment of journalists. Today, Democratic Montenegro strongly condemned the threat directed at the journalist and director of TV Vijesta, Marijana Bojanić, and called on the prosecutor's office and the police to react immediately in order to sanction the case and prevent a potential incident.

"We condemn all forms of violence and violations of the law, but threats and violence directed at journalists are particularly worrying, a profession that, due to the nature of its profession and the specific importance that profession has for every democratic society, should enjoy the highest possible degree of protection from the state", it is stated in the statement of the member of the Main Committee of the Democrats, Vladimir Jokić.

"We still remember the gruesome and tragic scenes from the past when journalists in our country and in the surrounding area were like clay pigeons.
