Rakočević: If there was a political culture in Montenegro, Srzentić would have resigned

If there was a minimum of democratic political culture in Montenegro, the current president of Bar Municipality would have already resigned, said Aleksandar Rakočević, member of DEMOS in SO Bar.

"Despite the fact that his predecessor is currently the only municipal official who was arrested and interrogated in connection with events that we from the opposition warned about in a timely manner and demanded that they be discussed in the SO Bar, citizens cannot miss the fact that President Srzentić during at those events, he was the head of the local DPS. At the same time, he was also a representative of the proposer who proposed and elected Žarko Pavićević for the second term of the municipal president, in the midst of corruption scandals and affairs that shook the public of Bar in 2011. For 2014 in which, as the prosecution claims, the former president damaged the budget of the Municipality of Bar for 930.000 euros, Srzentić and Pavićević submitted a joint "Report on the work of the municipal president", which was adopted only the other day, by the will of the new-old majority. certified continuity of power, so the question arises as to the moral responsibility of the president," Rakočević said.

He added that he was particularly surprised that even after one year in office as president, Srzentić did not consider it appropriate to inform the public who was responsible for the fact that the families of prominent citizens of Bar, education and health workers, professors and doctors, could not move to their apartments.

"Unusual for someone who, under some other circumstances, could easily find himself among his defrauded colleagues, with the key to an unfinished apartment in one pocket, and half of the rent in the other pocket. On the other hand, most of the defrauded citizens instead of repaying the loan for her apartment, she has been paying rent for the past 6 years, so if we consider that the average rent for an apartment is 200 euros, this waiting arranged for them by their fellow mayors from the Bar DPS costs each of them 14 euros today," Rakočević said. .

The member of DEMOS in SO Bar said that Pavićević could not have been the only actor in the destruction of the budget of the municipality of Bar, as the indictment claims.

"The years of the so-called investment boom could not pass without the biggest players, especially on the coast, so that the heads of local self-governments from that time were only cogs in the mechanism for pumping money out of the same, at the expense of the first or families close to it, which were managed from the top of the DPS or from the Government of Montenegro, through corrupt ministers, godfathers and businessmen's brothers. Thus, in difficult times for the liquidity of Prva Banka, Pavićević made a deposit of 11 million euros of municipal money in its vault, while Srzentić continues to hide the amount of that deposit In addition, when the councilors asked him for whom and with whose money ZIB built 11 apartments on the building for education and health, Pavicevic did not answer from the podium, but once blurted out: "For the state!" , letting us know, I guess, that there is someone above him, whom he calls the state when necessary," Rakočević said.

He added that this whole performance resembles a ritual offering of a lone victim to someone who demands that sacrifice, "a mere farce that should distract attention from how Bar was systematically destroyed by a joint criminal enterprise, carried out by the entire local DPS and SDP- and, in cooperation with the Government of Montenegro and its ministers in charge of the coast and heads of coastal municipalities."
