Customs and police officers, in a joint operation in Podgorica, seized a large amount of cigarettes and pyrotechnic devices.
In a joint statement of the customs administration and the police, it is stated that their officers searched the family house of BB (41) from Podgorica on Wednesday, on the order of the Deputy Basic Prosecutor (ZODT) in Podgorica, and on the obtained order of the investigating judge of the Podgorica Basic Court.
"During the search, 16,6 cigarettes, 430 packs of firecrackers and 96 packs of fireworks were found and confiscated. The goods were permanently seized and handed over to the Customs Administration for further processing," the statement said.
It is stated that, according to the statement of the ZODT, BB was issued a misdemeanor order due to the committed offense under the Act on Excise.
"Activities of police and customs officials to detect, prevent and suppress smuggling and traffic in smuggled and illegally obtained goods continue," the statement added.
