The oldest craft has become one of the most lucrative on the Montenegrin coast, above all in Budva, Kotor and Tivat, and the latest arrest of the Kotor "madam" Željka Rolović, suspected of pimping girls, probably showed that there is a fierce struggle in this "market" as well. for supremacy.
Rolović, who was known for her attractive friends at night, as evidenced by numerous photos on her FB profile, could be released to defend herself from freedom, given that there would be no one to take care of her minor daughter, if would go into pretrial detention.
And while almost all the arrested girls in the prosecution denied that Rolović had pimped them out to a rich clientele, the "Doll" police operation, conducted secretly from the Podgorica headquarters in cooperation with the prosecution, collected numerous evidences that it was the Kotor woman who offered the girls for not very small sums of money. .
And it is speculated that there is a long list of users of the services of these girls, who are considered the most elite "offer" in the region, because they are popular starlets, clubbing girls, singers, and domestic challenge girls, and many clients fear that they might be invited to give statements, if a court process is opened.
Željka Rolović's network, according to the police's suspicions, was used to pimp girls for private parties, in clubs and on yachts, on which the price list also depended. Depending on the client, among whom are rich Azerbaijanis and some regional businessmen, the price reached from 500 to 5000 euros.
Rolović's detention ends on Monday morning, when the prosecutor in Kotor should release her from freedom to defend herself or propose detention, which would be decided by the investigating judge. She denied guilt before the prosecutor
The sources of "Vijesti" claim that the dizzying earnings of pimps of girls and increasingly also of boys are practically involved in this business and strong local criminal groups, which provide them with protection. Networked with each other, the teams function harmoniously, and the "recruitment" of young, challenging girls both from the region and from Montenegro is daily.
Anyone who has ever been to a night out in Budva, Kotor or Tivat, could be convinced that there is almost no club, beach bar, nightclub, bar, disco, and that in their "offer" they do not have attractive girls who charge for sexual services, that is, a person who will provide a girlfriend or a boyfriend to anyone who wants it and has the money. Under the guise of hostesses, many of the girls who came to Budva to earn pocket money end up providing sexual services.
The media has been writing about prostitution for years, as one of the most widespread businesses on our coast, but perhaps not once, as this summer, has the oldest trade been more obvious.
Experts claim that girls easily fall into the trap of prostitution chasing after "status symbols" and "standards", set by folk singers and starlets (euphemism for elite prostitutes), in the desire to provide themselves with branded clothes, easy earnings, sweet life, as they have their "idols", which they follow on social networks.
The branches of each of the police actions, from last year's "Marina" to yesterday's "Lutka", during which pimps were arrested, lead to Budva, probably one of the epicenters of prostitution on the Adriatic.
Starlets - people without any occupation (usually in the end it turns out to be prostitution), daily fill the covers of tabloids in the region, and whose appearance all those girls who would like to live their life aspire to, have become easily recognizable. Social networks are full of such girls, who manage to draw attention to themselves in this way, and become as much in demand as possible among rich clientele.
And the mold is identical - girls, with emphatically performed aesthetic operations, oversized breasts, lips, buttocks, are the most sought after on the "market". The instant "fame" that such girls, by guesting in numerous reality shows on regional televisions, enabled them to rank better on the prostitution market.
These reality show stars were welcome guests this summer in numerous discotheques on our coast, sitting in the company of the "madam" from Kotor in her booth.
Convictions of pimps are minimal, liberals demand legalization
The director of "Safe Women's House", Ljiljanu Raičević, points out that prostitution is widespread throughout Montenegro.
"Prostitutes are everywhere, in bars, on the roads, and in the worst bars. The price of sexual intercourse ranges from 5 to 50 euros, for a few days from 200 to 250 euros, depending on the girl. In Budva, the prices are higher and range up to a thousand, while yachting prostitution, the price for a few days is from three to five thousand euros," said Raičević, not hiding her disappointment with the previous court verdicts against pimps.
Yesterday, the Liberal Party reminded of their initiative to legalize prostitution.
"Continuation of repression will not bring significant progress as it has not proven to be effective in any other country," the statement said. "Such action only deepens and marginalizes the problem of prostitution, that is, it emphasizes sanctioning what is the consequence and does not try to solve the essence of the problem," the party said.
Most of the states of the European Union, as assessed, have recognized the ineffectiveness of such a policy that has been persevered for decades and centuries.
"This was recognized by Amnesty International, the world's largest and most important organization for human and civil rights, adopting a resolution advocating for the legal recognition of prostitution, i.e. its decriminalization and an attempt to rehabilitate the damage suffered by sex workers," the statement says.
According to reports, research by public health institutions and non-governmental organizations has shown that a worryingly high percentage of sex workers suffer some kind of violence or are forced into sexual intercourse.
