Herceg Novi: Summer cinema has started working

The renovated summer cinema Forte Mare cinema started working last night with the animated film The Snow Queen from the Disney production.

The films are shown at the Forte Mare fortress, and the first ten days will be dedicated to the most watched children's and adult films, said the acting director of JUK "Hreceg Fest", Stevan Koprivica, and announced works that are shown in European capitals such as Mad Max and Mission Impossible, but the repertoire will also include more artistically ambitious films.

In cooperation with BLITZ FILM & VIDEO Belgrade, the cinema is equipped with top-quality equipment, the latest sound technology, which will also be used at the Montenegro Film Festival.

Tickets are three euros, and the projections at the Forte Mare fortress should last until the end of September.

Films have been "rolling" at that fortress since 1952, and many believe it is one of the most beautiful and oldest summer cinemas in Montenegro.

A quarter of a century ago, the last projection at the fortress was shown on the fourth of November, which means that the summer cinema season lasted a full five months.

There used to be four summer cinemas in the city. In addition to the one in Herceg Novi, screenings were also organized in Igalo, Meljini and Bijela. The reduced interest of the spectators shut down the stages on the Riviera.

Forte Mare Fortress - The sea fortress or sea fortress, where the Summer Cinema is located, is one of the better-preserved Herzegovinian fortresses, the construction of which was started by Herceg Stjepan Vukčić Kosača in the first half of the 15th century.
