The professors did not take money for admission to the faculty

The Podgorica High Court dismissed the indictment against the former dean and professor of the Faculty of Architecture, judging that there is no evidence that Goran Radović, Dragan Komatina, Rifat Alihodžić and assistant Ema Alihodžić - Jašarević took bribes and abused their official position.

Miljan Strugar, Žaklina Iković, Irena Beloica and Mia Gavranović claimed in the indictment that they were not admitted to the university because of alleged embezzlement by the four, but the court noted that there was no evidence for this.

"The testimony that Alihodžić - Jašarević is the main link through which student status is acquired, and that Strugar was not accepted because he did not prepare with Ema Alihodžić - Jašarević, as well as that the injured parties, as plaintiffs, believe that their papers were not reviewed at all, and that the disputed preparation of candidates for the entrance exam was carried out at the Faculty of Architecture, this court did not accept it since they were not confirmed by any evidence. The fact that Strugar, Iković, Beloica and Gavranović had good success in the previous twelve years of schooling has no effect on the specific legal matter," the High Court panel's decision reads.

The court also stated that by looking at a copy of the ranking list of candidates registered for admission to the first year of studies in June 2012 at the Faculty of Architecture, it was established that the plaintiffs had a higher number of points than some candidates who were enrolled, but did not pass the supplementary exam. They are "thus eliminated from the qualification procedure".

Former dean Radović told the investigating judge that it is not true that candidates were prepared for the entrance exam at the Faculty of Architecture and that premises were rented out to anyone for that purpose.

He is reported to have said that there was no favoritism for any candidate, not even those prepared by Alihodžić-Jašarević.

Radović said that it is her right to prepare candidates in her free time if she wants to, but that it has nothing to do with the faculty.

He assessed that the accusations that he had ever allowed Alihodžić - Jašarević to organize the preparation of candidates, nor anyone else since the Faculty of Architecture was founded in 2002, were unfounded.

He stated that he did not perform any work related to the preparation of candidates for the entrance exam, and that he did not thereby gain any material benefit on any basis.

The other accused also denied that the faculty organized the preparation for taking the entrance exam.

Jašarević - Alihodžić admitted that she prepared candidates, but she did it "outside the premises of the faculty" and that she did not present herself as an assistant at the faculty.

Strugar said in the indictment that he did not prepare under Ema Alihodžić and that is why he was not admitted to the university. He said that, according to his knowledge, she and Rifat Alihodžić are related and that the accused told the candidates that those who did not prepare with her would not pass the entrance exam. He said that money was the motive for such behavior.

Gavranović stated that she did not prepare specifically for the entrance exam, but that she was bothered by the fact that she had 49 points from the twelve-year-old, and the lowest accepted candidate, together with the points from the application exam, was around 20-25 points.

Žaklina Iković said that she prepared with Ema about 10 days before the entrance exam, while Irena Beloica stated that she went to Ema for preparation for maybe five classes because she heard that Ema is the main link through which the status of a student of the Faculty of Architecture is acquired.

"Too beautiful and tall for the Faculty of Architecture"

Miljan Strugar said that he did not prepare with Ema Alihodžić and that he thinks that is why he was not accepted.

He said that he knows that Rifat Alihodžić is the uncle of Emi Jašarević, who told the candidates that she was preparing them for the entrance exam because she knows best what will be on the exam, and that those she prepares will most likely pass.

Mia Gavranović stated that she did not prepare specifically for the entrance exam with a professional.

The injured party, Žaklina Iković, said that she prepared with Ema about 10 days before the entrance exam, while Irena Beloica stated that she went to Ema for preparation for maybe five hours because she heard that Ema is the main link through which the status of a student of the Faculty of Architecture is acquired.

The court accepted the statements of the injured parties as plaintiffs, in the part that they were not prepared, except for Iković and Beloica.

Žaklina Iković said in the investigation, "Vijesti" learned, that she was below the mark and that she failed to enroll at the university, and that she asked to see her work from the entrance exam. When they gave it to her for inspection, she claimed that it was not her work. She remembers that Rifat Alihodžić was redoing someone's work and when she talked to him, he told her: "You are beautiful, you are tall, go walk the runways, play basketball ".

She said that Strugar did not prepare because he comes from a family of architects.
