The world premiere of Pamuk's novel

The publishing house Geopoetika from Belgrade was the first in the world to publish Orhan Pamuk's new novel "A Strange Feeling in Me". It is, therefore, the world premiere after the Turkish edition. Since Geopoetika has the exclusive right to sell this and other publications on the territory of Serbia and Montenegro, readers in Montenegro and Serbia have the privilege of being the first in the world to read this wonderful novel.

The work was translated from the Turkish by Mirjana Marinković, and it is a novel with an unusual, i.e. characteristically Pamuk's, subtitle "The Story of the Life of the Bozadji Mevlut Karataš, His Experiences, Dreams and Friends and A Picture of Istanbul Life Between 1969 and 2012 Seen Through the Eyes of Many Faces".

Nobel laureate Orhan Pamuk worked on this novel for six years and it was published in Turkey in December 2014.

For more than forty years, the main character, the bozadzi Mevlut, has been selling sour milk, boza, and pilaf on the streets of Istanbul, and is a parking lot guard. He observes how the streets are filled with different people, how a large part of the city is destroyed and rebuilt, how the world arrives from Anatolia and acquires wealth; on the other hand, he witnesses the transformation, political friction and upheaval that the country is going through.

He is always wondering what is the source of something that makes him different from the others, that strange feeling in him. But he never stops thinking about selling the god in the evenings and about who the one he loves really is. Is a man's intention or his destiny more important in love?

Does our happiness or unhappiness depend on our choices or do they happen outside of us? In search of answers to these questions, the novel "A strange feeling in me" gives a picture of the confrontation between family and city life, the anger and helplessness of women inside the home.
