The head of Rozaj police also fenced off the state land

Rozaj police chief Sadik Šabanović tried to mortgage the land in order to get a loan, but it was determined that part of the plot he fenced off belongs to the state.

That is why the Real Estate Administration of Montenegro prohibited Šabanović from selling 101 square meters of state property in that city.

This can also be seen in the cadastral data of the Real Estate Administration (UZN), where the burden of "traffic ban" is recorded.

Šabanović in Veljka Vlahovića Street in Rožaje owns the property on which his family house and garage were built.

The Center for Investigative Journalism of Montenegro (CIN-CG) had access to Šabanović's property list.

Yesterday, Šabanović confirmed that this is state land in an interview with CIN-CG.

He said that he does not consider that he has usurped state land.

"Two years ago I took a bank loan. Then I asked for my property to be surveyed, in order to register a mortgage in favor of the bank. It was established that 101 m2 belongs to the state, which I did not dispute," said Šabanović.

He added that he took a loan of 20.000 euros from the Crnogorska kommercielja banka (CKB) in order to educate his student son.

“The part that belongs to the state is located along the road that leads to my property. After the burden was recorded, the Municipality offered me to buy that part of the land. If I have money, I will probably buy that land," said Šabanović.

The mortgage over Šabanović's property in favor of CKB banka was registered on April 2, 2013.

The loan repayment term is 142 months - about 11 years.

Šabanović was elected chief of Rozaj police in April 2011 after the death of Ernad Kalač, the first police officer in that city.

Prior to that engagement, Šabanović worked as the head of the Police Branch in that outpost.

The chief of police in the town of Košutnji potok and Gola strana also owns pastures of almost a thousand square meters.
