The spokesperson of the Railway Infrastructure of Montenegro (ŽICG), Mirjana Vujović, told "Vijesta" yesterday that two days ago, batteries were stolen from the ramp and at the level crossing in the Zeta village of Mahala.
Due to the same problem, the ramps at the level crossings in Zagorič and Golubovci did not work for days.
Vujović claims that, following an emergency procedure, they procured batteries for the ramp in Zagorič, where traffic was finally normalized.
She pointed out that the delivery of batteries for other crossings is expected these days.
"The procurement procedure is very slow, and we have to comply with it," Vujović said.
She previously said that they regularly purchase spare batteries, but that thefts are frequent, so due to procedures, they cannot buy as many.
At the time, she said that at the railway crossings Vukovci, Mahala, Cijevna, Bistrica and Zagorič, batteries were stolen three times in the past six months.
At the time, ŽICG announced that their on-call service informed the Police Directorate about the thefts, but that there were no results in terms of detecting and punishing the perpetrators. One road crossing requires about six six-watt batteries, which costs ŽICG about 1.200 euros.
