Cigarettes with a value of around 80.000 euros were seized in the Port of Bar, the Customs Administration announced.
"A detailed inspection of the containers, which arrived on May 14 by the ship 'Sea Horse' in the Free Zone of Luka Bar, found cigarettes that had not been declared to the competent customs authority. It is about 285 packs of cigarettes (14.250 packs) '777 classic' and '777 gold', the market value of which is around 80.000 euros," the announcement states.
The recipient of the goods, a foreign legal entity, was handed a misdemeanor order and fined EUR 5.000 for violating the customs law.
"The responsible person in this legal entity, by failing to exercise due diligence, committed an offense under Art. 240, paragraph 2. for which he was handed a misdemeanor order and a fine of 500 euros was imposed," it is stated at the end of the announcement.
