The company "Umal Belur Shipping" loaded 46 tons of cigarettes on the smuggling ship "Zahra" on March 7 in the port of Bar.
This can be seen in the ship's documentation, which "Vijesti" had access to.
On March 16, the Greek investigative authorities seized the ship "Zahra" with cigarettes of the brands "Cooper", "Gr" and "Royal Blue", worth 35 million euros.
The police officers there caught the smugglers while they were unloading the cargo from the ship on the shore in the bay of Mysaras on the island of Crete.
Their investigators claim that the state budget would have been damaged by more than six million euros if they had not prevented the smuggling of cigarettes.
There is not a single word on the Internet about the sender of goods for smuggling - the company "Umal Belur Shipping".
Even in the ship's documents there is no information about the country in which her address is.
The situation is similar with the company "New Eastern management ENC", which, according to the documents, was supposed to receive cigarettes in the Libyan city of Benghazi.
The Customs Administration previously informed "Vijesti" that the customs officials supervised the loading of the ship "Zahra", that the customs marks were properly placed on the ship's books and that they were sealed with seven customs seals.
Yesterday, the Port Authority confirmed to the "News" the data of the Customs Administration that the "Zahra" sailed on March 8 with 46 tons of cigarettes, which, according to the ship's papers, were destined for Libya.
The accompanying documentation states that these were 46.062 kilograms of cigarettes of the brands "cooper red blue", "GR 25s red, blue", "royal blue ks" and "royal blue slim". The manufacturer of "royal blue" cigarettes is the Bosnian-Herzegovinian Fabrika duhana Sarajevo, while the "cooper" and "GR" brand cigarettes are produced by the Greek cigarette factory "Sekap".
The stranded ship "Zahra", as reported by the media in Greece, was sailing under the flag of Sao Tome and Principe, a former small Portuguese colony - today an independent state in West Africa - in the Gulf of Guinea.
It was seized in an operation by the Greek Coast Guard, which secretly followed and monitored the ship for days, based on a tip they received from an informant. The ship was caught at the moment when the cargo unloading operation began, for which the smugglers also provided special equipment - conveyor belts like those at airports that transport passengers' luggage, four tow trucks into which cigarettes were loaded, even diesel generators to drive belt conveyors and lighting. Eight members of the ship's crew were arrested - six Ukrainians and two Greeks.
Banović: We were agents, we have nothing to do with cargo
The address of the agent of the ship "Zahra" is known, unlike the company that sent and received the cigarettes that were used for smuggling.
It is about the company "Jadroagent Bar".
The "Vijesti" journalist contacted the executive director of that company, Voj Banović, who confirmed that they had executed the agency for the smuggling ship.
“We were agents. We accepted the ship when it announced that it was coming to the port of Bar and informed the Port Authority.
We assisted the master of the ship. As for other details about what was loaded on it, and what is transported on it, we have nothing to do with that," said Banović to "Vijesta".
"Jadroagent Bar" is an international maritime transport agency.
