The Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Council for Civilian Control of Police Work concluded a Memorandum of Cooperation.
The memorandum on cooperation between the Ministry of Interior and the Council affirms mutual cooperation, develops and establishes more intensive methods of communication and information mechanisms within the framework of joint cooperation.
It is significant that the Memorandum defines cooperation in the implementation of programs and projects that are of interest to police officers and citizens and foresees, within the limits of possibilities and budget, financial support of the MUP for projects and programs of the Council that are in the interest of citizens and police officers .
It is defined that the Council will make concrete proposals and recommendations for improving the respect of human rights of all citizens, especially vulnerable groups, as well as proposals for improving the work of police officers in the direction of protecting their and public interests and the rights and freedoms of citizens.
The Council assesses that the Minister of Internal Affairs has shown full respect for this collective ombudsman body, which is authorized by the Law on Internal Affairs to evaluate the application of police powers, but also the determination that the police organization, with the constant development of capacities and education, develops into an open, democratic and efficient service.
