The Minister of Sports, Nikola Janović, hosted a reception for the junior boxers of the national team, Bojana Gojković and Petar Liješević, medal winners at the European Championship in the Russian city of Anapa.
In addition to the athletes, the reception was attended by the president of the Boxing Association, Blažo Šaranović, the selector Boško Drašković and the coach of the junior national team, Nikola Ružić.
Gojković won the gold medal in the category up to 50, while Liješević won the bronze in the category up to 75 kilograms.
The member of Budva won the first medal in the history of Montenegrin women's boxing at the European and world championships.
Janović emphasized that the success came at the right moment, when the new Law on Sports opens up the possibility of adequate affirmation of promising young athletes.
"I believe that this will motivate them to achieve new successes in their national team jersey," said Janović.
The president of the Boxing Association, Saranović, said that the association continuously has the support of the Ministry of Sports and that it is much bigger than before, stating that this undoubtedly has an impact on the great results of Montenegrin juniors in Russia.
Gojković and Liješević thanked Janović for the reception and the scholarship they will receive next year, stating that this support is a significant incentive for them for further dedicated work and new victories.
