The international 50-kilometer ultramarathon, Montenegro 2015, will be held on March 28 in Podgorica, the organizers announced today.

It was announced that the five and 10 kilometer races will be the official road championship of Montenegro.

A throwing meeting will also be held in the Tološka forest, in shot put, for all ages - "Vojo Vračar" Memorial, in honor of a prominent Montenegrin athlete.

The president of the Organizing Committee, Milorad Backović, said that the goal of the event is to promote athletics and a healthy life for all age groups.

He expects over 500 participants to compete in all disciplines of the event.

"The ultramarathon is expected to host competitors from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Macedonia, Russia, Slovenia, France and Montenegro. In the main 50-kilometer race, we expect over 50 ultramarathoners to participate," Backović said in a statement delivered to the MINA agency.

The technical organizer of the event is the Podgorica Marathon Athletics Club, and the sponsors are the Secretariat for Culture and Sports of the Capital City, the Directorate for Youth and Sports, and the Athletic Association.

The promoter of the event is Mileta Božović, the first Montenegrin to run an ultramarathon of 100 kilometers.

The title of the most durable man of Montenegro is defended by Nreka Ljuljdjuraj from Tuzi.
