Montenegrin rapper Bičer and rapper Apro released the single "Salji dalje", which can be listened to on the YouTube service, and which announces their still untitled EP. The song was recorded in Belgrade and Budva, and the music was composed by Nikšić beatmaker Coa.
"We came up with the idea to collaborate completely spontaneously, considering that we have known each other for a long time. The EP will have four songs, on which, in addition to us, there will also be some rap heads. We still haven't agreed on the name of the EP, but will certainly represent the thread that will connect all the songs", said Snežana Nikčević for "Vijesti", who performs under the pseudonym Apro, the second Montenegrin rapper after Labija.
Nikčević, who is a member of the Bit organization, which has promoted hip hop culture in Montenegro through various events in the past, said that she has been involved in this story for a long time, only it was more theoretical until now.
"I was accepted more than excellently. The most important thing is that the team accepts you as an equal member, and that is certainly the case here. The suggestions are always on point and very useful, and I have people around me who do what they love, so I have no what can I complain about, at least as far as that part is concerned," she said, stressing that there are not many women in domestic rap, and therefore no room for greater controversy about their position.
"There are always haters, but Sassja and Remi really showed some things with the song 'Etiket'. The audience and the emcees are always somehow grouped into those who will categorize you according to your skill and those who will say that you came to something. Work and time will show everything," she is convinced.
Bičer (Bojam Mašković) introduced himself to the general public on the NaVamGa compilation released in 2009, and then appeared on a couple of other Montenegrin rap releases. Bičer, who comes from Kolašin, but currently lives in Belgrade, is a member of the TuhhtŠ group, which has announced that it will soon release its debut album, along with Bacili, Psiho Mistik and Cou.
As for the EP he is working on with Sneža, Mašković announced that "old school rap music" can be expected, and the guests will be Bacili, Web, Srx from the group Spam and member of Kontrabanda Vu Lu. Besides working with Apr and TuhhtŠ group, Bičer also works on solo songs and other collaborations.
"My goal is to motivate as many people as possible to do good rap. There will be some sessions with Serbian and Montenegrin rappers, as well as songs, everything that can be done, and all with one goal called hip hop. I hope that we will record the first session soon, and according to the current plan, Rezon, Web, Spam, Đošulica and Remety Beat will also participate with me," he announced.
No more "hate" for Sivil
Verbal conflicts, which in hip hop terminology are called "beef" (direct translation - beef) are nothing new in rap, on the contrary, they are in a way a tradition. In Montenegro, however, they are not frequent, but Bičer participated in one. He and his colleague Psiho Mistik called out Podgorica rapper Sivil in the song "Teror na ushi" published on the NaVamGa compilation mentioned earlier ("je*em ti kajle i Sivil"). Beecher explained to "Vijesti" what prompted him to do so.
"I don't like what Sivilo is doing, then I was like see you. There were no reactions that I know of, so it doesn't matter. Because I love and work hard, real rap, so I get tired when I see what others are doing. I don't have nothing against him, let everyone do what they like. I know what I and my NaVamGa team will do, so there is no hate," Bičer said.
The fact that the "hate" towards Sivil has disappeared is perhaps also shown by the fact that the rapper from Podgorica was part of the Mediatag team that made the music video for the song "Jah Fire" by Bacili, a member of the TuhhtŠ group along with Mistik and Bičer.
The first hip hop forum in Bar, the next in Podgorica and Nikšić
Nikčević is the first lady of Montenegrin hip hop activism, one of the leaders of the Bit organization, which a few days ago held the first hip hop forum in the House of Culture in Bar, where rappers Bacili and Necke, b-boys AmonRašo and Vladek, graffiti artist Mindfull, DJ Maraku and the author of the radio show "Carving" Max Power.
"Zthe vision of this event Ball is that through the experiences of people who activelycelebrating the spread and development of hip hop, the speakers show how wide and significant its influence and understanding is. The tribune was designed as an interactive lesson lasting an hour, during which representatives of all four elements of hip hop culture (rap, DJing, breakdancing, graffiti) spoke. They talked specifically about Montenegro, its current state and potential. But those present were not silent either, so the conversation flowed in several directions, imbued with the personal experiences of both those who spoke in front of the element they represent and the audience," said Nikčević.
She said that the most debated was whether hip hop can be used for a living, and that one of the main conclusions was that the struggle for existence most often prevents XNUMX% investment in creation in hip hop.
"The plan is to hold the next forums in Nikšić and Podgorica, where we are waiting for approval for the locations," revealed the rapper.
