The police did not react to the violent demonstrations in February of last year, but that's why they arrested people who were sitting peacefully on the street closed to traffic that day.
These are the conclusions of the defense attorneys of Marko Milačić, Boban Batrićević, Ninoslav Kaluđerović, Irene Delja, Danilo Mrvaljević, Miro and Milka Radević and Aljoša Turović, who are on trial for not complying with the removal order, when they peacefully protested in front of the MUP building because of the bad situation in the state.
Yesterday, after viewing the footage, the defense attorneys asked the Prosecutor's Office and the Police why none of those who threw oysters were on the dock, but peaceful protesters. In one of the recordings, unknown persons can be seen throwing stones. On the second, the accused, who are sitting on the asphalt, in a street where there is no traffic, and dozens of people are standing around them.
"None of the footage captures the alleged warning, nor the order to stand up. It can also be seen that there was no traffic in the street, so there is no basis for any order to be applied, so traffic cannot be an excuse for intervention against non-violent protesters," said lawyer Aleksandar Đurišić.
The defense attorneys added that 20-30 people could be seen standing beside the defendants at that location, although the police officers testified that the order was valid for everyone present.
The accused also claimed that the police officers pushed, cursed and threatened them during the arrest. Judge Goran Đuković accepted the proposal of the lawyer Sanja Đurović that at the next hearing, the journalists of "Vijesti" Jelena Jovanović and Darvin Murić, and the photojournalists Savo Prelević and Zoran Đurić, who were present during the arrest of the accused, should be heard.
"The violent part of the rally staged in the services of the regime"
Yesterday, the judge rejected the defendants' proposal to interrogate the Minister of the Interior, Raško Konjević, and a person who introduced himself to them as Kosta Miljanić, who came to the police a few hours after they were arrested and told them that the police suspected that he was one of the organizers. together.
"There is a suspicion that the violent part of the rally was orchestrated by the regime's services...The video also shows a person with a diary in jeans, who appeared at the police and talked to us, and we also suspect that he was there on the order of the services. That man was not prosecuted at all, even though he was allegedly detained, and he threw stones at the building in front of the Assembly and pushed the protective fence," said Milacic.
