This year's winner of the NIN award for literature is Filip David for the novel "House of memory and oblivion", the jury announced at the press conference after the final session in the premises of the company "Ringier Axel Springer", which issues the NIN.
In the shortlist for the 61st NIN award for the novel of the year were Oto Horvat "Sabo je stao" (published by the Cultural Center of Novi Sad), Filip David "House of Memories and Forgetting" (Laguna, Belgrade) and David Albahari "Animal Kingdom" (Magic Book, Belgrade).
Critic's literary award for the best novel of the year NIN's award has been awarded since 1954 and the first winner was Dobrica Ćosić for the novel "Roots".
This year's laureate was decided by a jury consisting of Vladislava Gordić Petković (president), Mića Vujičić, Jasmina Vrbavac, Mihajlo Pantić and Božo Koprivica.
The award ceremony to the newest laureate, David, and the celebration of NIN's 80th birthday will be held at the Hyatt Hotel on Monday, January 26.
