The meadows above Lake Biograd, on the border between the municipalities of Kolasin and Mojkovac, outside the borders of the National Park "Biogradska gora" started to burn in the evening.
As they said in the Mojkovac protection and rescue service, it is assumed that the fire was deliberately caused, but for now there is no danger of spreading.
According to the firefighters, the buildings are not threatened either, because the fire is very high.
"Pastures and meadows are burning, which are surrounded by a forest where the snow has remained. The fire will most likely be extinguished when it reaches that part. We did not intervene, because it is a location near Jarčvi Strana, which is inaccessible and there is no way to reach it by vehicle. there," said the commander of the Mojkovac protection and rescue service, Dragan Marković.
The director of NP Saša Jeknić also told "Vijesti" that the fire is not on the territory of NP "Biogradska gora" and that there is no danger to the plants and animals of that natural reserve.
As he said, meadows that are privately owned are burning.
