Journalists "Vijesti" Jelena Jovanović and Komnen Radević said that they wrote the texts in which Ivan Vujović was mentioned like all others - respecting professional standards.

On December 26, Judge Veljko Radovanović will decide whether "Vijesti" caused mental pain to Vujović by publishing the articles "I stabbed him with a spoon, because he was racketeering in Spuška prison" and "Bomb for Vujović?".

Vujović is demanding 250.000 euros for damage to reputation and honor.

Jovanović, the author of the text "Bomb for Vujović?", explained that she was confirmed by several police sources that the explosion took place in front of the prosecutor's apartment.

The journalist said that she did not contact Vujović then, because he was in prison serving a fourteen-year sentence for murder.

Vujović's representative, lawyer Snežana Mićanović, stated that Vujović has not lived in that apartment since 2007.

Radević said that his text, in which Vujović is mentioned, is the report from the trial, that everything was conveyed correctly and that this can be verified based on the content of the minutes from the main trial.

The journalist followed the trial of Jagoš B. Petrović from Bar for the attempted murder of Vujović in the prison in Spuz.

Mićanović stated that the trial in which Vujović was the injured party, by the title and the photo that accompanied the text, was constructed as if he was the accused in that process. Radević pointed out that it is not his job to determine what the title and photo will be, but the editor's.

Lawyer Edita Mehović, attorney for "Daily Press", pointed out that the supertitle of the text clearly states who is the accused and who is the injured party, so she does not see what is disputed.

Mehović, in her final statement, pointed out that the defendants only reported the allegations from the main trial and informed the public about the current event, while the second text reports allegations from the Police Administration, which are not commented on.

"Sanctioning journalists because they helped transmit the statement of a third party would seriously undermine the contribution of the press in considering issues of general interest," said Mehović.

Vujović was sentenced to 14 years in prison for the murder of Radomir Raš Savović in 2008.
