Moldavka S.Č. she was legally sentenced to one year in prison for giving a false statement, in the proceedings initiated by lawyers Zoran Piperović and Ekrem Jasavić.
The High Court thus overturned the verdict of the Basic Court, by which the Moldovan woman was sentenced to a suspended sentence. The first-instance verdict was pronounced by judge Goran Đuković.
The higher court assessed that the amount of the sentence was not proportionate to the crime committed. S.Č. was tried in absentia, because she left Montenegro soon after the accusations. Given the new verdict, police authorities will have to issue a warrant for her.
Đuković stated in the verdict that it was proven that the Moldovan woman was not telling the truth when she labeled Piperović and Jasavić as organizers of forced prostitution:
"It was undoubtedly established that the Moldovan woman gave a false statement with direct intent."
It is added that the motive has not been determined - which was not the duty of the court, but it could be inferred from her claim that several cars came in front of the Assembly building, with which she was taken to Sveti Stefan, where she was allegedly sexually abused.
In one of the vehicles, she said at the time, there was also a high-ranking official whose name she also did not mention.
The judge explained that from the contract concluded by "Vojvodina Concert" and the bar "Oskar", it was determined that Vojvodina undertook to S.Č. sent to work at "Oskar".
"She did not come from Bosnia and Herzegovina in Piperović's car, as she stated. She came to work as a dancer, which she also did in Novi Sad. Her crossing, as well as the lawyer's car, was not recorded by BiH or Republika Srpska during the disputed period." it is written in the verdict.
Đuković was assigned the case, after the High Court twice overturned the acquittal of Judge Nada Rabrenović. As a rule, the court process must be assigned to another judge, if the judgment is revoked twice.
S.Č. testified in 2002 about how she came to the territory of the former Yugoslavia in the late 90s to work as a waitress, when she was forced to have sexual relations with several officials and politicians.
She named Piperović, Irfan Kurpejović, Jasavić and Bajram Orahovac as organizers of forced prostitution.
