Retired journalist Dragoslav Milačić Duća was sentenced to a suspended sentence, and Bato Božović to a sentence of community service, for trying to prevent police officer Darko Knežević from arresting Marko Milačić in February, during a protest.
This is the decision of judge Nenad Vujanović, according to which the elder Milačić will go to prison for 30 days if he commits a new criminal offense in the next year. Božović will definitely have to do 74 hours of work in the public interest, within two months.
They are accused of having committed a criminal offense - preventing an official from performing an official act and attempting to confiscate the official pistol from police officer Knežević.
Explaining the decision, the judge pointed out that the police officers testified truthfully about the incident and that the videos show that Božović grabbed the younger Milacić around the waist in order to prevent the police officer from arresting him, which the accused did not dispute.
"The video also shows that you grabbed the policeman's hand, you can't see grabbing the gun," said the judge, addressing the elder Milacic.
He added that the police then worked in accordance with their authority and that the meeting was not registered, so dissatisfaction with the state of affairs in the country should not have been expressed in such a way.
