The event "100 years since the birth of Mihailo Lalić", organized by the Ministry of Culture and Matica Montenegrin in cooperation with national cultural institutions, will be held on October 6 and 7 in Berane and Andrijevica, and will include a scientific meeting, a book exhibition, a film tribute and a formal academy dedicated to Lalić's life and work.
There were more words about the program of the two-day event at the press conference held at the Ministry of Culture in Cetinje.
The general director of the Directorate for Cultural and Artistic Creativity, Dragica Milić, said that "this manifestation is proof that Montenegro inherits an abundance of significant and important personalities and events" and that "their commemoration is an opportunity for all generations to be reminded of the most important moments of Montenegrin heritage".
The centenary of Mihailo Lalić's birth is being celebrated under the auspices of UNESCO, because as Milićeva points out, "recognizing the universal poetics of Lalić's work, UNESCO included the anniversary we are celebrating in the calendar of international jubilees that they will support in 2014".
The president of Matica Montenegrin Dragan Radulović reminded that "Lalić is more than needed today, and that he represents something we can rely on, both for our own understanding and for the understanding of others."
He announced that an exhibition of Mihail Lalić's books and literature about him will be held on October 6, which, as he announced, "will be a nice and wonderful opportunity to see Lalić's work more tangibly."
On the day of Lalić's birth on October 7, at the Culture Center in Andrijevica, the Faculty of Montenegrin Language and Literature will organize a scientific meeting dedicated to the life and work of this great Montenegrin literature.
Goran Drinčić, vice dean for science at the Faculty of Montenegrin Language and Literature, said that as part of the centenary, that institution will also publish a book by the distinguished literary historian and one of the best connoisseurs of Lalić's work, Krst Pižurica, entitled "Poetics of Mihaila Lalić's Novels".
In addition to the meeting, the Faculty and Matica will publish the Bio-bibliography of Mihail Lalić, signed by Nada Drašković, Petar Krivokapić and Dobrilo Aranitović, which has over 6500 bibliographic items.
The program is completed with a film tribute in the culture centers of Andrijevica and Beran, from October 10th to XNUMXth, organized by the Montenegrin Cinematheque, as well as an exhibition of Mihailo Lalić's books and literature about him, organized by the "Đurđe Crnojević" National Library.
