Friends of Marko Šofranc from Podgorica - Mladen Nikač and Bojan Tatar - announced yesterday that they were thoroughly searched by the security at the entrance to the "Šas" discotheque and that they all had to pass through a metal detector.
They said this at the repeated trial of Šofranc, accused of illegal possession of weapons and explosive devices. He is accused of allegedly having a gun with him in March 2012 at a discotheque in the center of Podgorica.
When asked by judge Nada Rabrenović - whether the security of the club also searched the girls at the entrance to the bar, they said that only their bags were searched. Nikač and Tatar claimed in the previous proceedings that none of them had any weapons, and they were called to testify whether they were searched at the entrance.
During the previous search, police officer Slavko Martić claimed that he found Šofranc with a gun in his hand at the discotheque, that he then took the firearm from him and called the police.
Šofranac, however, claimed that he did not have any weapons with him at the time and that the police planted the gun on him. The trial continues on October 7. In the first-instance verdict, which was annulled by the High Court, Šofranac was sentenced to three months in prison.
