Podgorica Basic Court judge Larisa Mijušković-Stamatović sentenced Dragoljub Bakočević to one year in prison for threatening Podgorica High Court judge Dragica Vuković and prosecutor Vesna Jovićević.
Bakočević was convicted of assault on an official, because at the end of March, after his release from prison, where he had served a 12-year sentence for murder, he sent a message to Assistant Minister of Justice Slavica Rabrenović with threats directed at the judge and the prosecutor who were acting in the proceedings led before the High Court.
The judge extended his detention.
His defense attorney, lawyer Nikola Tomković, announced that he will appeal against the verdict of the Basic Court in Podgorica.
In his closing words, he said that the expert's report clearly states that the defendant's ability to understand the significance of the act was significantly reduced:
"How many words - He will pay me, I can be a serious threat considering his health condition".
Bakočević was previously convicted several times, the last time for the murder of his neighbor Boban Stojković.
